South India Tamil Nadu 2010
These image were taken in April 2010 during a trip to the east coast of South India. I flew into Chennai and then travelled south to such places as Mamallapuram and Chidambaram. Hindu temples were high on the list of must see sites.
Leaving the UK where the temperature was 8 degrees, 38 degrees in Tamil Nadu was a bit of a shock to the system for a few days.
I travelled in an old Hindustan Ambassador with a great driver who went by the name of Ganesh. Air conditioning was a slow fan that blew warm air into the car rather than hot. Each day the temperature got higher until even the locals were starting to feel hot but still they toiled away under a relentless sun.
