Disappearing Light
This collection of recent and not so recent photographs has been put together for an exhibition called 'Disappearing Light'. The first showing was at the Fish-Slab Gallery, Whitstable in February 2010. The next show will be at Creek Creative later in 2010 or early 2011.

These works display aspects of the transient nature of light particularly at dawn and dusk. The moment captured is fleeting and decisive. I want a picture that is reduced to the essential elements. In some of the pictures the colours tend towards greys and so appear to be monochrome with a hint of colour. These contrast with others where the colours are rich and layered. In the editing process I strive for a lightness of touch to ensure that the pictures are honest and presented as they were observed.

I travelled to Kerala, South India for some shots but others are on my doorstep in Faversham. Oare Marshes and King's Wood are wonderful places where no two days are the same.
